As recorded by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Energiebilanz e.V. in its first quarterly report for 2014, domestic energy consumption was almost ten percent lower than in the same period of the previous year. Not only did the mild weather in the first few months contribute to this unusually sharp decline, but the statistical effect of the previous year’s exceptionally cold period also had to be taken into account, as the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Energiebilanz explains. According to the Rhenish-Westphalian Institute for Economic Research, around a third of annual final energy consumption is accounted for by the private household sector – where energy is mainly used for lighting the home, cooking and operating electrical appliances. Above all, however, space heating and hot water are required – basic prerequisites for a functioning infrastructure.
Municipal utilities and energy suppliers ensure the basic supply of electricity, gas and water to the population. From time to time, conversion, modernization and maintenance work is required on the lines and systems. Even short-term damage cannot be completely avoided. However, the general supply of heat and hot water should always be ensured whenever possible. The supply of sensitive properties such as nurseries, schools, hospitals and care facilities must also be guaranteed at all times. Mobile heating and energy centers are ideal for quickly and reliably compensating for planned or unforeseen interruptions to the heat supply. “Mobile heating centers are compact heating systems in the form of mobile heating units or heating containers. The smaller mobile heaters are mounted on a car trailer and cover an output of up to 150 kW. If an output of 150 kW or more is required, it is advisable to set up heating containers, from 4,000 kW or, if redundancy is required, several containers,” explains Rico Ryssel from H+R Anlagenbau GmbH & Co. KG. “Depending on requirements, these heating centers can even take over the heat supply for several weeks or months in the event of supply bottlenecks as well as in transitional phases due to conversion or repair work.” By using temporary systems such as HeizMax, a brand of H & R Anlagebau GmbH, a supply of heat is always possible at any time. Like a permanent supply of electricity, this is now a matter of course for customers of Stadtwerke.
The mobile central heating units are therefore a cost-effective alternative and score points for their versatility. Around 80 high-performance systems from 10 kW to 20,000 kW guarantee a round-the-clock supply of heat and hot water, even in entire residential areas. “Our area of operation extends throughout Germany. Rico Ryssel explains: “As we build the systems ourselves, it goes without saying that we use the latest technology, the quality of the materials, ongoing service, environmental protection, compliance with all technical standards, as well as cleaning and maintenance of the systems. If required, this naturally also includes fast and flexible transportation, installation, connection of the media and commissioning of the system. At the customer’s request, we can also take care of heating oil management, system management and monitoring.
